Job Description: VP Electronic Communication

The VP of Electronic Communications shall serve as web master of the SMA website, and shall also provide technical and strategic assistance to the Society as requested by the President and President-Elect.  The VP of Electronic Communications shall be responsible for sending electronic correspondence (email, list serve) as directed by the President and Vice President The following activities provide a sample of specific job responsibilities.

  • Maintain the SMA website.
  • Maintain electronic listserv for mailing information to members.
  • Coordinate with other officers in publishing newsletters twice annually. Work to assure a consistent style that will work well for both printed and electronic versions.
  • Coordinate with other officers in publishing conference program online.
  • Update the SMA Proceedings index.
  • Assist officers in promoting SMA activities.
  • Attend all events during the SMA Annual conference.

Term of Service

  • The Director of Electronic Communications is an appointed by the Executive Committee for a term of 2 years, ending in odd years.
  •  The appoint may be renewal for additional 2 year terms.
  • A term begins at the close of the business meeting at the annual conference.
