HOTEL RESERVATIONS

The 2010 Conference hotel is the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel .  Please use this link to register.  The room rate is US$165/night for single,double, trible, or quad occupancy.  

While the registration deadline is October 12, 2010, you are encouraged to register early to receive the special conference rate.

PROGRAM ADDITIONS

Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Workshop

This workshop is conducted by Barry J. Babin (Louisiana Tech University) and Joseph F. Hair, Jr. (Kennesaw State University).  This interactive session will include instructions on how to analyze data using the structural equation modeling software package AMOS.  Workshop attendees should bring their laptop computers with AMOS installed.  This workshop requires pre-registration and SMA conference registration and has an additional cost of $200.

SMA Case Teaching Symposium

This symposium is conducted by Danny Butler (Auburn University), Danny Ballenger (Georgia State University), and James S. Boles (Georgia State University). This symposium requires pre-registration and SMA conference registration and has an additional cost of $50. 

SMA Leadership Development Symposium

This symposium is conducted by Ray Fisk (Texas State University-San Marcos), Bill Locander (Loyola University New Orleans), Greg Marshall (Rollins College), and Bill Moncrief (Texas Christian University) with a goal of sharing ideas and best practices focused on challenges and opportunities of modern department chair positions and roles. Attendance is appropriate both for current department chairs/heads and for individuals who have interest in moving into a department chair role in the near future. SMA Writing Successful Grants in Marketing Seminar

This seminar is conducted by Rene Mueller (College of Charleston) and is designed to assist marketing scholars in writing successful grants.  This seminar requires pre-registration and SMA conference registration and has an additional cost of $50.

SMA Supply Chain Management & Industrial Distribution (SCMID) Symposium

SCMID provides an opportunity for leading supply chain and distribution scholars to interact and discuss current and emergent trends in a relaxed and collegial environment. The Symposium invites speakers as well as hosts presentations of the best papers from the Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Marketing Channels track. This symposium requires pre-registration and SMA conference registration and has an additional cost of $50.   

Retail Strategy and Consumer Decision Research Symposium

In hiatus for 2010.  After a dozen years of putting together the Retail Symposium the organizers have decided to take this year off.  We hope to see them again next year in Memphis.

In the mean time if  you have a retail paper please consider submitting to the Retail & Entrepreneurship Track.

  • Placement registration forms are available at SMA Academic Placement Services.
  • Completed forms should be mailed to the address on the forms along with remittance of the appropriate fee.

DOCTORAL STUDENT INFORMATION

SMA Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition

The Society for Marketing Advances is proud to sponsor an annual SMA Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Award to recognize the best of emerging scholarship in marketing and related fields such as logistics/supply chain management.  The Best Proposal Winner receives a cash award of $1,100 and the Runner-up $500, plus several other benefits.  All submissions are also eligible for a special retail-focused Award of $500.  For more information about eligibility, awards, and submission guidelines, take this link to a pdf file of the Call for Papers or click on the link below.

SMA also sponsors a Doctoral Consortium. SMA Doctoral Consortium Fellows participate in professional development and career planning sessions, and interact with top marketing scholars in a friendly and encouraging one-to-one environment.
