Thank you for your interest in the Society for Marketing Advances (SMA).  SMA is a dynamic, influential contributor to substantive marketing thought, practice, and education.  Our members are from the four corners of the world, teach at many different types of universities, and represent leadership and expertise in diverse areas of marketing.  With members from throughout the United States and more than 34 other countries, SMA has grown into a global marketing organization while retaining strong ties to irreplaceable roots of scholarly encouragement and hospitality. 

SMA's annual conference brings together marketing educators from throughout the United States and abroad. Leading scholars participate in SMA conferences and past participants invited for the Distinguished Scholar Series include Scott Armstrong, Henry Assael, Bill Beardon, Sharon Beatty, Jean-Charles Chebat, Joe Hair, Morris Holbrook, Shelby Hunt, Phil Kotler, Michel Laroche, Rick Netemeyer, Bob Peterson, Peter Reingen, Leon Schiffman, Jagdish Sheth, Jan-Benedict E.M. Steenkamp, Yoram (Jerry) Wind, Gerald Zaltman, and Roland Rust.

Membership is Open to...
  • Persons actively engaged in teaching marketing or a related area in academe at a university, college, junior college, community college, technical institute, extension school,, or management training center,
  • Graduate students with a major or minor in marketing, and
  • Business or government executives who are supportive of the objectives of SMA.
Membership Term
  • Annual membership year ends November
  • Membership dues are not prorated

  • Doctoral Consortium Student = $250.00*

*Subject to $50.00 late fee if paid after October 1st.
